HAPPY NEW YEAR 2007!

It’s the first post of 2007. Just wanna wish everyone, who’s reading this a joyful and blissful year of 2007.

Suddenly I felt the urge to make a new year’s resolution (though I know it might be cliché by now). I have come this far at this point of my life and I have never felt luckier and happier with what life has granted me all this while. I’m especially grateful to be where I am and to own what I have and I could never ask for more.

So for this coming year, my only wish is to be a useful person for my family, friends, bf and colleagues.

I had a blast on new year’s eve with friends in Mannheim. Earlier in the evening we had teppanyaki dinner with cheese fondue. After that we headed to the Kurpfalzbrücke, a bridge overlooking the Neckar River in Mannheim to rush in the new year with the crowd. Although I have been staying in Mannheim for nearly 5 years, I’m abit ashamed to admit that I have never once celebrated New Year’s Eve in Mannheim per se. And I gotta admit New Year’s Eve in Mannheim is almost as happening as New Year’s Eve everywhere else in Europe that I’ve been to.

Here’s a clip that I’ve taken but unfortunately my digicam can’t record the sound as well :(

The bridge was so full with people at the side igniting firecrackers and throwing them into the middle of the road. To my surprised there weren’t any unfortunate incidents seeing the way people throwing firecrackers carelessly around. The rain that poured after the midnight clock strucked didn’t dampen the spirit of the crowd, not to mention I was drenched to my skin! Just hope that I don’t catch a cold now. The night skyline of Mannheim is lighted with the splendour of a bursting display of fireworks provided by its very own Mannheimers :)
