Exhausted..

These two days have been quite taxing for me. Attended company´s annual conference at a hotel. So you see my job was to sit and listen and occasionally clapped my hands and laughed at jokes and drank coffee so that I could check myself from drooping off. Other than that well, trips to toilet, then had meals and went to bar and drank . It´s all you can drink. Before dinner we had some appetizer with smoked salmon and sparkling wine. The dinner was mediterranean buffet. I couldn´t resist their tempting white wine. It was good, not too dry. Although one glass of wine (plus the sparkling wine earlier) was enough for me for the night since I don´t wanna look as red as a beetroot. But then later on my colleague ordered a glass of Ramazzotti with a slice of lemon as an after meal drink for me. Ok I could feel alcohol in my blood stream already after that.

Then we headed to the bar and I was just a step away from ordering a glass of Long Island. But then I didn´t since I didn´t want to give wrong instructions to my colleagues coz he´ll be driving me home. It was only shortly before midnight that I reached home due to a roadblock because some trees have fallen and blocked the road.

You see..Germany was ravaged by storm yesterday. I could hear the wind blasting away outside my window. Never have I in my life seen a real storm and the wind was really frightening. I could feel the car shaking due to the wind on the way back home. Trains stopped commuting and people were advised to stay indoors. I was straining myself to trudge forward while walking against the wind and holding an umbrella to shield myself from the rain was useless since my umbrella was on the verge of being blown out of shape.

But thank God, I arrived home safe and sound. After much effort keeping myself awake to shower, I was glad to lay my head on my pillow and surrounded by the warmth of my comforter. While outside the wind kept howling and blowing mercilessly, threatening to snatch any objects that stand on its way, and inside my head was pounding, hoping not to get a hangover.

What a day.
