Paris Day 3 & 4
The first stop of the day was the Basilica of Sacré Coeur. Another church in Paris situated atop a hill in Montmartre. From afar it looks really like those fairy tale castles you see in Disneyland, except that this church lacks a little dash of color.
However the church stills looks amazing against the blue blue sky, doesn’t it? Somehow this the building looks like a mosque to me. Maybe it’s due to its rounded rooftops. We gotta climb flights of stairs (again) to go up.
The pale, bland facade of Sacré Coeur close-up. We decided to visit the Louvre on Sunday because the entrance is free for the first Sunday every month. However you gotta be prepared for the crowd there! Here’s a mini version of the Louvre. I didn’t know the compound of Louvre is so huge. And the amount of paintings, sculptures and artifacts on display at the museum is HUGE!

The renowned Mona Lisa painting is housed in the Pavillon Denon. There was already a crowd gathered in front of the painting or to put it precisely there seemed to be a crowd in front of this painting from the moment the museum opens its doors in the morning till the closing hours. Interestingly the painting is not where it was that I remembered from the Da Vinci Code. They couldn’t possibly use the original painting for the film right? The whole museum is too large for a stroll in an afternoon. I think if you really want to look at every piece of art there, you need maybe two weeks time.

It was already evening as we left the Louvre and I caught a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower from Louvre.
We took a stroll towards the Pont Neuf (The New Bridge) just behind the museum to enjoy the sunset.
Later on we decided to head back to the Eiffel Tower to enjoy its night scene.
The Eiffel Tower at night is extremely beautiful and the tower is opened until 10pm at night. We didn’t go up for the night view, so that I’ll have an excuse to come to Paris again
