The power of imagination

Just finished reading Stephen King’s The Shining. I must say this book is a MUST READ!!! The book really keeps you keep on turning the pages and makes you have goose bumps all over when you put it down. It’s thriller, mystery, horror and tragedy all in one. Somehow after reading the book, I have to ensure that lights are turned on before entering a room
. I know, I know…it is all in the mind. But can’t blame me mah. This book can really makes your imagination run wild! No kidding. Must catch the film also. Reviews said that it is also one of the best horror film of all time. Furthermore Jack Nicholson is portraying the main character of the book.
The story takes place in a hotel atop the Rocky mountains. The undertaker and his family were left alone to look after the hotel throughout winter because the hotel is closed during this period. The caretaker’s 5 yr old son began to ’see’ things in the hotel and as the story goes on things happen and escalated to horror and ended in tragedy. Well, just in case you wanna catch this book yourself, don’t wanna spoil your suspense here
.
Praises to Stephen King also for his super creative mind. He is really such an imaginative writer. The way he writes and describes a place or a situation, I can so clearly portray them in my mind. Like how a playground looks like, or the way a chandelier is hanging in a room or just the way a chair is placed upside down on a table. He really pays attention to little details and it is the details which make the story so real in your mind.
So what are you waiting for….go grab a copy of this book!

I haven’t read The Shining yet. However, I would say that Stephen King is good writer that has ability to absorb our mind in his story after reading 2 books written by him few years back ago. Ever since I have started working, I don’t have time to read.
