Count your blessings.

Have you ever wished that if you could be a little slimmer? If you could grow an inch taller? Or constantly comparing yourselves with others or even worse wish that you could have what others have failing to see the richness of our own lives and blind to the those who love us? It is always the constant habit to see the wrong, the bad, the foul before what is actually the good and the right. Eventually spreading the bad chi, nasty remarks and poisonous words, which we are all guilty of one or the other, that will in the end come back to us one day. Life is a vicious circle.

We have all our moments, when nothing seems to go the way we wanted to, when we feel that everyone seems to be turning against us. More often than not that it is during these moments that our judgments are clouded by our perceptions that nothing we do is right. It takes great wisdom to pull ourselves out of the doldrums and to start looking at things in another perspective. A problem is not a problem until you make it one. So when overcome with ‘problems’, instead of being gripped with the fear that you couldn’t do it right, why not be thankful that we are given the opportunity to improve and strengthen our ability in problem solving?

Instead of complaining and bitching behind someone’s back, why not be grateful to that someone because you’ve met your match and in that someone you’ve found a teacher. Whenever we feel hurt by hateful words or comments or rumors by someone, be grateful to that someone for they have enforced your determination to be truthful to ourselves and in our beliefs in upholding our principles. Whenever we feel betrayed by some so called ‘friends’, instead of ‘getting back at them’, why not let bygones be bygones and be thankful to them, for they have deepened our insight in their character.

Giving thanks is a tradition that should be practiced regularly and sincerely. It is a way of life. If we count our blessings often enough, we will slowly begin to see the bright sides of things and lead a happier life. Don’t you agree with me? :)
