Château d’If
Sep 23, 2007 in Going places
A visit down south to the Mediterranean Sea won’t be complete without going out to the sea, be it on a sailing boat, a yacht, a catamaran or like me, on a tourists boat
! It feels so rejuvenating and calming to have the sea breeze touching my face. Château d’If is located at the island of If situated at the offshore of the Bay of Marseille, just about 15mins of boat ride.

As our boat slowly cruised its way out of the port, I find the view from the boat is much more captivating. The waters appear so blue. I never thought that I can get seasick easily. Luckily the sea was quite calm that day so it saved me the embarrassment from vomiting
.
The Château d’If served as a prison back in the 19th century. The whole construction of the building is pretty simple and …bare? It looks more like a fort to me. The scenery from the Isle of If is so gorgeous because the sea lays out like a piece of azure blanket into the horizon.

Go away now…it’s time for some of my self portraits ![]()

Just in case you are still reading this, OK here are some gorgeous pictures taken on the Isle of Ifand during our boat ride. Enjoy!

wah…you have uploaded many pictures… I need some time to digest each entry on your vacation, ya….
Hey Yen, I got your beautiful postcard from Marseille. Really envy your traveling life over there.
Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!!!
Ahh… lovely post. I’ve always enjoyed visiting your blog and ‘ going places ‘. I wish I could be here all day if I don’t have to go! =D
