Celebrating the year of the Rat!
The 7th of Feb marks the coming of the year of Rat in the Chinese calendar. I wanna wish everyone here a very joyous and prosperous year of the Rat ahead! For me all these years of being a student in Germany, Chinese New Year would have meant, studying for exams. My end of winter semester exams always coincide with the beginning of Chinese New Year.
So I remembered every time on the first day of Chinese New Year, I’d wake up at 5am in the morning (!!!) to call home (so it’ll be around noon in Malaysia) to wish everyone a Happy New Year before revising my notes for the last time and then off I went to my exam hall. That has become my routine for Chinese New Year during my student days.
My parents always asked me whether I get any days off, either from lectures or from work, for Chinese New Year. Hah, fat chance, it was either we had to skip the exam or skip work.
Hmm…this year I’d be spending it with friends and planning for the food that we’d be cooking! So it’d be fun too
!! Wish you guys have heaps of fun with your family and friends! Pamper yourself with New Year goodies and diet later
.

祝大家 新年快乐, 万事如意,大吉大利 !!
Have a great Chinese New Year, Yen. I am happy to hear that you have plans to celebrate the festival. Want to know what I did on Feb 6th? I went to the dentist. Let’s hope that the swelling goes down and I can eat something tomorrow…
Oh Chin, poor you. Hope you get better soon! Happy Chinese New Year to you! Don’t worry we’re celebrating CNY for 15 days right, so you’ll sure be well to eat great food for the CNY by then
