Small town girl…not
I am a self-confessed city girl. I love the anonymity a city life can offer. I love the hectic, fast-paced life because, hey I’m an Aries
. True to the personalities of an Aries-person, I can’t sit still and idle the time away, I have to keep myself going. I like to have the hustle bustle of a city within reach. If given the choice, I’d choose to live in a city anytime.
I like to be able to do my grocery shopping without having to drive miles away. Especially when doing grocery shopping in Asian store. Staying in a city is really a blessing if you are looking for ingredients to cook some Laksa. Due to the competitiveness, we as consumers benefit from their not so pricey imported Asian groceries.
I love to be surrounded with shops when I go shopping and being spoiled for choices. Even though I might have nothing to buy in mind, I still love to do window shopping. It is always this kind of I’m-not-going-to-buy-anything-this-time kind of window shopping results in me ending up with some surprising purchases.
I delight in the pleasure of dining out at different restaurants which offer diversity in their menus every week, OK I exaggerated, I don’t dine out every week but maybe once every two weeks
.
I enjoy sitting at cafés and sipping my latte while watching the world pass me by, this is of course after the first round of shopping to relieve my feet before heading off to the 2nd round
.
I appreciate the vast offers of sport facilities and all kinds of recreations you can find in the city. I had never felt so fit and active before with my twice or more visits to the gym and swimming pool. I’ve signed up a modern dance class, joined Tae Bo and also took up step dancing.
It was really a pleasure to be able to watch films in English! Man, you can’t imagine how nice it is for once to watch a movie in its original language. Sadly, we can only find cinemas showing movies in its original language in cities where they see that there’s a demand, namely in big cities. Johnny Depp is not Johnny Depp with his voice dubbed. Or can you imagine watching Borat dubbed in German? Luckily they didn’t dub the film.
Sigh, I’m reminiscing the time I used to stay in Munich and Mannheim. I miss every second of it.
Good for you! I like the options that a big city offers, but the traffic is not something I am willing to put up with. I guess I am somewhere between a “kampung” and city girl…haha
Hey Chin, you’re right about the traffic and jams, there’s going to be a 2nd part to this post…later later…
