Grindelwald, a town so beautiful

I have to write a post about this beautiful town, called Grindelwald, near Interlaken, although I’ve been there for just about 30min to wait for my next train back to Interlaken. Grindelwald is well-known as the starting point for skiers heading to ski areas at Mönch, Jungfrau or Eiger.

Upon stepping out of the train, this view greeted me and I was in love with the serenity and the heart stopping beauty of the town. My colleague told me that the restaurants here in Grindelwald even offer their menus in Japanese language, so I can imagine how this place is full with Asian tourists in summer.View from platform of Grindelwald train stationThe train station of Grindelwald from afar. The Wetterhorn is the massive mountain at the background and it looms above the Grindelwald.Train station of GrindelwaldDon’t you wish to wake up every morning to this kind of view? The massive mountains gave me a feeling like they are so close that I could really reach out and touch them. The town square of GrindelwaldAs our next train arrived to take us back to Interlaken, I was a little heavy hearted. On the way back to Interlaken I’ve put together a panoramic view of the town area facing the train station. So if you ever plan to visit the highlands of Switzerland and you have some spare time, then Grindelwald is a great choice for stopping-by. It is a quaint little town with its own charm and splendor that surely will capture your heart as it does mine.

  1. This is soooo beautiful indeed! I’m lost for words… I’ve always loved Europe’s lovely scenery and landscape. Awesome! It’s such a blessing staying there indeed, to enjoy such gorgeous view everyday. Though I really must say that the freezing temperature must be rather unbearable. Brrgghhh~

  2. Yes it is indeed a blessing staying in Europe, but I don’t get such views everyday :) .

  3. We didn’t do this as we think that it was too expensive to go up to the mountain by train. We stayed on day in Interlaken and hiking from there. Anyway, I love the scenery so much that I would love to go there again. This time I will choose those tiny little towns like this one and just spend some time picnicking and walking around.

  4. My breath has caught in my throat and my heart is beating faster!! What an amazing place and gorgeous photographs!

  5. Bee Ean, going up to the mountains is definitely worth it, although as you mentioned, it is a little expensive. I’d love to go back there one day too! :)

Hello ThePeachTree, thank you :) .
