Garden series: A leisure walk
May 16, 2008 in My distractions
Summer has decided to pay us an early visit this year for the past few days I guess. The weather lately was really ideal for plants to thrive. I’m staying with my boyfriend’s family and they have a wonderful garden full with of all sorts of plants.
Each day when we arrive home from work, there are little surprises waiting for us in the garden. There are petals that are there, which I couldn’t recall seeing in the morning before driving away for work. With the passing of each day, they’ll all grow a little taller, the flower buds become bigger and fuller, waiting for the right time to bloom.
I don’t know the names of many of the plants, except those recognizable roses, magnolias and tulips. Other than that, I’ll refer them as flowers
. I’d better start learning their names.
Some flowers, like tulips or this Pfingstblüte above, just bloom at certain time of the year. If you miss their blooming season, then that’s it. You might as well wait for the next season or get them at the florists. It was Pfingsten (Whit Sunday) last weekend and the red/magenta flower above only blossoms every time come Pfingsten.
The picture above is a Pfingstblume at its loveliest.I love the intensity and the vivid color of the flower. Actually, I love anything colorful
. The funny thing about this flower is, a few days after Pfingsten, the petals will fall and the color of the petals will fade into a light pinkish shade. The saying that, beauty won’t last, is so true. We should really enjoy the beautiful moments we have in life while they last.
More lovely flowers to come! Have a nice weekend ahead
.

Very beautiful shots. I love the pictures so much! I know what you mean by the appearance of flowers. It’s a wonder how these little lives transform in mere time. =) Keep on sharing!
Stardust, thank you!
