Garden series: Dainty beauties
May 22, 2008 in My distractions
I’ve learned to appreciate the beauty of these tiny, exquisite beauties in the garden. I’ve been blind to them all these while.
They don’t grow tall like other plants. Their blooms don’t catch much of your attention unless you throw them a second glance.

You might think that their presence is to complement some other more dominant, eye-catching flowers. When you move closer, they are actually very pretty in their own unique way.
They have those little details on them that can only be appreciated if you really ‘look’ at them. Most of the time, they are often ignored because they are so ’small’. They grow low on the ground, blooms only during the day. When the sun sets, their petals will close, leaving an impression of an unkempt plant.
You might like them white? Unfortunately I don’t know their names and T’s mum has long forgotten their names.
Or how about yellow? I think these tiny little flowers are of the same species but of different colors. Which color do you prefer? Plain bright yellow?

Or soft pink shade with a dash of yellow stigmas?

How about a mix of both worlds?
I’ve nearly overlooked the purplish blooms above because I thought they’ve passed their blooming season. Some of them have already wilted but some are still thriving.

As for these pretty blooms, I thought they look so much like colorful butterflies! So dainty, so delicate and so pretty. I love them.

Yes the flowers from the last photo look very much like butterflies! I have yet seen this in France. Spring is just awesome I don’t think I will get tired of enjoying these wonderful creatures.
What a lovely walk this is, thank you so much for sharing! Fantastic photos, you’ve truly brought the beauty out of them.
My favourite? ALL of them! Heheh… Oh yes, the last picture features ‘ viola ‘, and they come in so many colors and tones, you’d be spoiled for choice! They are cheap, lasting and plentiful in blooms. If it’s available at your place, look out for one that is yellow, with a brown ‘ Mickey ‘motif at the centre. Interesting. =)
