During an outing last weekend on our bikesWe cycled by this field
Planted with plentiful of sunflowers
They stretched out as far as my eyes could see
I was sure they weren’t there last summer
My rather gloomy mood, dampened by the chilly summer weather
Was immediately lifted
Delighted by the serendipitous discovery
Charmed by the swaying of the stalks
Beckoned by the smiling blooms
I was in awe
It was beauty in simplicity
Appreciated in silence
That touched my heart the most

they greeted us with wide smile .. 
Stardust, summer weather in Germany can be very fickle..we sometimes have temperatures about 20°C or less for days in summer!
