It’s Advent!

Today marks the first day of Advent. So what does this means for a non-Christian like myself? It means it’s time to get my boyfriend to buy me an Advent calendar :P .
My Advent calendar from LindtAn Advent calendar is actually just a simple calendar reckoning the start of the 1st of December counting down to the 24th, that is one day before Christmas. However in Germany, you’ll find most Advent calendars filled with surprise treats (usually chocolates) behind those small little ‘doors’ for each day!

The first time he bought me one, I opened them all up on the first three days of December (without him knowing :P ) and since then he’s been threatening not to buy me anymore Advent calendars. But he’ll be checking now everyday to make sure I won’t open them all at once!AdventskranzIsn’t it a fun way counting down to Christmas ;) . Oh, as I came home the other day, T’s mom has already finished making some Christmas wreaths and an Advent’s wreath above all in one day! The four candles represent the four Sundays before Christmas. Christmas decoShe made a another version for our TV-room too. It’s simple but I really love it! Look at those cutie mini-pretzels! I just love the Christmas season in Europe.
