牛 Year’s feast

I’ve been busy like everyone lately, taking my Chinese New Year’s leave from blogging :) . This year’s Chinese New Year came early which explains why there are still plenty of Malaysian students staying around due to exams which is around this time of the year. Food, food, food So instead of sulking and drowning ourselves in misery for not being able to fly home, we decided to take things in our own hand and have our own Malaysian-style-when-you-are-faraway-from-home kind of ‘reunion dinner’ (like every other year actually :P ). Steamboat! It was a night of good food, of catching up on stale gossips, of silly laughter and lame jokes, of endless flirting and chit chatting, of polishing my rusty Mandarin, of feasting and indulgence and a night of letting my healthy-eating-conscience down.Chit chattingEveryone waiting (im)patiently for the soup to cook. Oh, the dress code for the night was red by the way. I had a hard time rummaging through my wardrobe for a piece of red garment! Red undergarments don’t count okay. Group photoWe were at the party room at the basement of a student hostel actually. That explains the hideous coat of yellow paint of the walls and why we were using some Octoberfest-lookalike of tables and benches as props.

I had steamboat for CNY too, at a friend’s house actually. It was a good night. Glad that you had some fun as well!

  2. Oh hoho, no wonder I see so many reds. Doesn’t this make up as a good celebration of CNY! I can feel all the festive joy over there!
