Eight and twenty

“Youth is happy because it has the ability to see beauty. Anyone who keeps the ability to see beauty never grows old.” ~ Franz Kafka
At this point in life, you maybe wondering about what you’ve been missing out so far? Maybe it’s time to reflect a little. Perhaps you’ve been living in an autopilot mode for so long that you wouldn’t want to rustle those feathers and just be content with how things are going? I’m smelling complacency reeking out of everything you do. You know, I’m afraid you’ll wake up one day and wonder who’s that stranger in the mirror. Do you still see the same person you saw five years ago? I wonder what has changed. Can you still laugh at the joke, the same joke that you found so hilarious two years ago? Or are you too jaded to be able even to laugh at yourself anymore? I do worry when you take yourself a little too seriously sometimes. Life is too short to be so serious all the time. Where is that fun-loving side of you that I love so much? When was the last time that you really sit down and count your blessings? Y’know, you really have some loving and wonderful people around you. Do make an effort to show your appreciation once in awhile and make it known that you care too. Have you give up on your dreams to wander and explore? Or have your flight of fancies lost their wings, tucked away at a corner while you willingly let some petty everyday-weariness set in, gradually barring that corner out of your sight? I think it’s time to regain your balance.
“And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count. It’s the life in your years.” ~ Abraham Lincoln
Remember that. So here you go, happy birthday
.

Happy Birthday!
No, I don’t think I’m jaded, I think I’m more silly nowadays compared to five years ago. I think I’m pulling a Benjamin Button! Oh, I wish!
Chin, thank you
!
It’s your birthday already? Happy Belated Birthday!!!
I remember introducing myself into the maze shortly after your 27th. Thank you for coloring my days with your lovely posts for the past year. And for this reason, I think you’ve lived abundantly else I wouldn’t be visiting till now!
Hugs…
Stardust, thank you very much!
