Which type of dog suits you?

by Yen posted May 2, 2009 category All things me

While having a lovely evening stroll along the Rhine river the other day, I came across a young lady with this cute little chocolate-coloured dachshund, which is just about seven weeks old. It has tiny, little feet and its body was just about 40cm long. Cute dachshundIt came hovering around my legs, wanted to be cuddled. It was so tame, it didn’t even bark nor growl at us. The baby dachshund was so cute, that I wish I had one too! Very huge and beautiful Rough CollieThen today, I came across this very huge (almost half as tall as me) Rough Collie with a wonderful coat of brown and creamish fur which were combed beautifully. When the dog sauntered, its hair bounced gracefully across its body. I wished I had a Rough Collie there and then too! I wonder what criteria a dog owner sees in a dog to decide which is best for them?

  1. I personally like Labrador. And Siberian husky.

  2. yeeee…so cute doggy :)

  3. Chin, I like Labrador too! :)

Jaina, I absolutely agree with you :D .

  4. I can imagine stoking that silky collie’s fur coat… and cuddle it in my arm. At the same time I can imagine hovering around my carpet and furniture for dogs hair :P

  5. I like the small dogs too but I’m afraid I might step on them! Of course my first choice are Labs, and if you don’t mind the hair. I know a lot of dog owners take that into account when picking up a pup/dog. Also, the size and if they want the pooch to be a guard dog or watch dog. My dogs are watch dogs. In other words, pretty much empty vessels makes the most noise!

  6. Jessica, I’d imagine the same too if I were to have a collie! :P

Dawn, I thought Labs usually have short hair? I think if I were to have a dog, they’ll definitely be for watch dog purpose ;) .

  7. Labs have short to medium hair and they do shed every season. Dog hair all over the house if you don’t mind them ;)
