Blinded by awesomeness

Avatar I think I’m the last person on Earth who had just watched this movie. Okay, here’s the truth, I was actually quite unimpressed the first time I saw the trailer of this movie. Not another science-fiction-based animation, I was thinking because I am no fan of science fiction (WHAT?? I can hear you exclaiming out loud). However I kept hearing only good reviews from friends and colleagues about this movie on-and-off since it came on the screen here and then I decided I MUST give it a try because I need to see it myself in order to love or hate it. Yup, that’s me.

So on a rather drizzly Sunday afternoon, I went for the movie with quite high an expectation on my side and out I came, almost three hours later, totally blinded by awesomeness. It was one of the finest, most beautiful movie I’ve ever seen, in 3D! The scenes, the landscape were all too magical. Those colourful giant trees and blinking plants were so impressive and those drifting jelly-fish-like ferns were somewhat so touchable and real. I was like being drawn into an enchanting world of make-believe, where every living being was in-sync with nature in the wonderful planet of Pandora.

I am really glad I watched this movie on the big screen with its 3D effect because watching the film later on your TV or on your computer screen will not justify the spectacular visual effects that comes with it. My, and I still have the image of that wondrous colourful forest in my head.

  1. I’m the next person on Earth who haven’t watch this movie yet. Yea, I heard it’s awesome from others too. I guess I will watch it soon. :)

  2. In fact, everyone were blinded by the technology awesomeness and doesn’t really care if the storyline is not that awesome. I was very disappointed that the love story in this movie lack of originality and ‘Titanic-ness’. But no doubt this movie will definitely grab a lot of award this year.
