However, a walk along Oxford Street convinced me that economic woes were far from the minds of the shoppers that thronged the stores. Bargain hunters like me were everywhere. The crowd, the atmosphere were all so exhilarating. Although the weather was less than friendly for a couple of days, with rains and sleets drenching my boots, I was completely unfazed. Although I gotta admit it did dampen my mood a little to do some touristy thingy.I managed to grab a few bargains although sadly, five days are just too short for each and every shop in Oxford Street! Topshop alone has four flours in its flagship on Oxford Street! I could really spend hours just in Topshop alone! I’ve brought along a list of stuffs I wanted to buy in London but I ended up with a completely different set of goodies, no less. Bf said, why wasn’t he surpirsed?

Unfortunately, they don’t ship to Germany . Guess I’ll have to find a way to get them .

Weighing at just less than 1.5kg, and as thin as air just 0.76 inch, I just love it! It’s almost 1/3 the thickness of my actual Toshiba and twice as light!

Creative innovation coupled with sleek design always has its price to pay. Priced at 1700Euro (the standard MacBooks cost roughly 1200Euro), it’s a tad pricey.

Man…I gotta start looking around for a part time job if I wanna foot the bills for my geeky gadgets .

There is this pair, which is my favorite among my limited collection of jeans, and it finally gave up on me last week . There was a time, or it still is, that holes in jeans is absolutely the ‘in’-thing. But I think it is not very appropriate as an office wear. The holes that started appearing on my jeans happened to be more of the material being worn down rather than being ‘in’.

However the idea of buying jeans here always makes me cringe. I am 5ft 2inch and I know I am short. Sometimes I feel like a hobbit if I’m standing beside some of my super tall German friends. Sometimes I wish I could use an inch or two taller. BUT I am comfortable with my height and if mother nature makes me this tall, I accept my own fate then. What irks me most with my lack of height is whenever I attend some open air concerts and these ‘giant’-Germans acting like it was so cool standing in front of a girl who’s like 20cm shorter, completely at ease, blocking my view. That is when I wish I could be taller.

Anyway I digress, oh ya, back to buying jeans here. The jeans are either usually tailored for some super tall girls or those who have skinny thighs and hips, which I am neither of those types. That absolutely puts me off. So last week I decided that’s it, I’ve had my fair share of worn down jeans. It is time to get some new ones.

I really walked into every shops in Mannheim, very determined to search for the perfect pair of jeans and guess what I managed to find 3 pairs! I didn’t know that Esprit has a collection of jeans categorized as ’short’ . From the sound of it, I know that those jeans are really cut out for me .

While grocery shopping at Maximillian Center (a huge shopping center in Karlsruhe) yesterday, people were thronging the shops and spending on clothing, cosmetics and other gifts and I have yet started on my Christmas shopping! Talking about Christmas shopping, I gotta draw up a list of what to buy for who. It’s sometimes a headache to crack your head searching for an idea of what to buy for your boyfriend and for his parents.

He just asked me what I want for Christmas this year. I don’t like surprises in terms of gifts coming from my boyfriend because it’s either something too practical or too unromantic. Once he even got me a 1GB computer RAM for my birthday present because I couldn’t decide on a gift. I mean it was a practical gift at that time as my computer was getting slowed down by too few memory but that’s the last thing I wanted as a birthday gift from him!

So for this year, all I want for Christmas is….

• A Nikkor 55m-200mm Zoom Lens to complement my DSLR. My D40Kit comes with a Nikkor 18-55mm lens. So for some far away things, a 55m-200mm does the job . Amazon US is having it at a super low price but shipping to Europe would mean I’ll gotta pay for import price .. bah Would love to get a wide angle lens as well. A Nikon wide angle lens costs a whopping 900Euros! It has got to wait.
• A cookbook!
  This time I think I want to have a pasta cookbook. Thorsten has been hinting so very often that I haven’t been cooking pasta dishes often enough, although we have Chinese noodles dishes most of the time. He finds that there’s a difference between pasta and Chinese noodle, although to me, they are just noodles and they are equally delicious! Have been scouting around for a good pasta cookbook but couldn’t decide on any one of them because the choices are just HUGE! Any recommendation anyone?
• An Apple.
  Err..I mean a MacBook from Apple. That will top my wish list for years to come. My Toshiba is still working fine but I couldn’t help myself from dreaming to own this Apple someday. So when will I get this one please? Is there a way to ‘make’ your notebook into a irreparable circumstance without making yourself feeling guilty so that you’ll have an excuse to buy a MacBook?

I’ve drawn up a similar wish list last year and I think I’ve gotten my wish fulfilled so far . Have you realized my list has shrunk? I’m getting less demanding right ? Happy Christmas shopping!
